Vol. 327 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

421.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the work is eligible for a grant and has been satisfactorily completed. The inspection will be carried out shortly.

422.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. Evidence of planning permission requested from the applicant in March 1980 was not submitted by him until January, 1981. The grant will be paid shortly.

423.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

There has been no delay in the Department in dealing with this case. The person named was an applicant for a grant under the old scheme of new house grants but a grant could not be paid as the house was not completed on or before 1 January 1979. The applicant was informed of this by letter of 12 March 1980. He also claimed, but was not eligible for, the £1,000 grant, as the foundations of his house were poured prior to 26 May 1977.
