The precise cost to the Exchequer of the recent study of CIE, carried out by the consultants, McKinsey Inc., will depend on the exchange rate prevailing on the day that payment of the consultants' final account is made. On the basis of the present exchange rates the total cost of the consultants' report, including printing, is estimated at £523,000 approximately.
