asked the Minister for Finance the proportion of the 1981 Public Capital Programme that is likely to be spent on imports.
Written Answers. - Public Capital Programme.
57.
It is very difficult to make a firm estimate of the import content of expenditure under the 1981 Investment Plan — the details of which are set out in the Public Capital Programme. Reliable information on imports will only be available after the event. It is estimated, however, that direct imports may absorb somewhat less than 30 per cent of the programme. Imports arising indirectly as a result of expenditure under the programme will add to this figure, but the additional amount cannot be estimated.
