Vol. 328 No. 9

Written Answers. - McKee Barracks (Dublin) Civilian Employee.

321.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will make a statement in relation to a person (details supplied) in Dublin who is a civilian employee at McKee Barracks; and the action, if any, he proposes to take in the matter.

The person concerned is employed as a pioneer. He was one of a number of serving employees considered for a vacancy as boilerman in October 1980. He was unsuccessful.

Pioneers carry out a variety of tasks in military establishments. From time to time it is necessary to reorganise work duties as happened in the case of the employee concerned. Protective clothing is available for issue to pioneers when required in the course of their employment.
