The increase of two-thirds in the level of the maintenance element of grants awarded in accordance with schemes under the Local Authorities (Higher Education Grants) Act will apply to all existing holders of the grants as from the commencement of the academic year 1981-82. The fee element of the grant is met in full by the Department of Education in the case of all students in receipt of grants.
