asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to commence work on Binghamstown national school, County Mayo.

The preparation of sketch-plans and other necessary preliminary arrangements have been completed in relation to the provision of the proposed new school at Binghamstown, County Mayo. The further planning arrangements leading up to the invitation of tenders, have been referred to the Commissioners of Public Works. It is not possible, at this stage, to state when building work may commence.

asked the Minister for Education when he will sanction the payment of the grant for the extension which is now being carried out to Mulranny national school, County Mayo.

My Department have not authorised an extension at State expense to Mulranny national school, County Mayo, and it has not been informed by the board of management of an extension being carried out at present.

asked the Minister for Education the amount of grant he is making available for improvements to Achill Sound national school, County Mayo; and when payment will be sanctioned.

It is not in accordance with normal practice to disclose details of agreements with school authorities regarding amounts of grants allowed.

A grant towards the cost of the proposed extension scheme at Achill Sound national school, County Mayo may not be sanctioned until the question of title to a site extension has been settled. A title document has been received in my Department and is being referred to the Chief State Solicitor for his advice.

asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to commence work on Kilmaine national school, County Mayo.

Sketch plans for a five-classroom national school at Kilmaine, County Mayo, have been approved by my Department.

A grant cannot be sanctioned until satisfactory evidence of title to the site is submitted by the reverend chairman of the board of management. It is not possible to state at this stage when building work may commence.

asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to commence work on Neale national school, Claremorris, County Mayo.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that it will be necessary to re-design the school because of difficulty involved in relation to the use of the septic tank.

It is not possible, in the circumstances, to state at this stage when work may commence.
