Vol. 330 No. 4

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payment.

461.

asked the Minister for Labour when payment under the Redundancy Payment Acts and Minimium Notice and Terms of Employment Act will be made to persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

On 21 October 1981 the three employees concerned were paid the statutory lump sum entitlements awarded to them by the Employment Appeals Tribunal on 21 September 1981. Payment was made from the redundancy fund as the employer claimed inability to pay on the grounds that he was insolvent.

One of the employees concerned was also awarded compensation by the Employment Appeals Tribunal under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act, 1973. If the employer fails to pay the amount awarded under that Act, I shall arrange to have the matter taken up with him on receiving a complaint from the employee.
