Vol. 330 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Superintendent Registrar's Office.

23.

asked the Minister for Health if she is aware of the primitive conditions which exist at the Superintendent Registrar's Office at Pearse Street, Dublin; and the action she intends to take to ease the resulting inconvenience to both personnel and the general public.

I am aware of the difficulties which have been experienced by both public and staff at the office of the Superintendent Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Pearse Street, Dublin. These have been caused by the rapid increase in the demand for birth and marriage certificates for various purposes in recent years. Some changes have been made in the working arrangements and, as a result, the conditions for staff and public have improved.

In order to ensure a permanent solution to the difficulties, arrangements are being made to relocate the office in new accommodation. This move is expected to take place early next year.
