Vol. 330 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cappagh (Waterford) Land Allocation.

2.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry why his Department, despite repeated requests, have not yet allocated that portion of Scart Mountain, Cappagh, County Waterford where locals have traditional rights; and when the area concerned is expected to be divided.

(Cavan-Monaghan): I regret that my Department's proposals for this 84-acre property, which would compensate four local landowners who have rights thereon by granting them individual plots and leave the balance of the land available for planting, have been impeded through unacceptable demands by one of the parties. If the person concerned would indicate his willingness to co-operate, the matter could be brought to a speedy conclusion.
