An inspection has been arranged with a view to ascertaining if the person named is eligible for a grant. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

Following an inspection in this case, the Department's inspector reported that the applicant was not prepared to bring the house up to the standard required by the Department for grant purposes and, consequently, the application was rejected on 12 September 1980.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the payment of an improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.
Under the Housing Regulations, 1980, as amended, it was necessary for the payment of house improvement grants that all the relevant works be satisfactorily completed on or before 30 June 1981. As this requirement was not complied with in this case the grant cannot be paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite the payment of an improvement grant due to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.
This grant will be paid shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the special mortgage subsidy grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in Dublin who applied only two days before the commencement date, particularly in view of the present financial difficulties this young couple are having in meeting their mortgage commitments.
An application for a new house grant and mortgage subsidy has been received from the person named. His eligibility for the mortgage subsidy will be investigated when an inspection has established that the house complies with my Department's technical requirements. The inspection will be carried out shortly.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of a new house grant application from the person named at the address given. If the name and address in which the application was made is confirmed, the matter will be further investigated.
