Vol. 330 No. 13

Written Answers. - County Galway National School.

248.

asked the Minister for Education if the title to the lands is now in order at Creagh national school, Ballinasloe, County Galway; if all drawings, specifications and costings in relation to the extension are now with his Department; if there are any other details that the Department require before the contract can go to tender; and the proportion of the grant which will be paid by his Department.

Sketch plans for the proposed extension to Creagh national school, County Galway, have been approved. However, a grant towards the cost of the proposed extension scheme may not be sanctioned until the question of title to the site extension has been settled. This matter has not yet been finalised.

The question of title to a portion of the site extension required for the proposed works at Creagh national school, Ballinasloe, County Galway, is still under examination. Sketch plans for the project have been approved subject to clarification of a number of small items in the plans as between the Office of Public Works and the chairman's consultant. When good title has been established for the plot in question and agreement reached on the local contribution a grant will be sanctioned by my Department and the project may proceed. The remaining stages of planning would consist of preparation of working drawings and bill of quantities leading up to the invitation of tenders.
