Vol. 330 No. 14

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

148.

(Wexford) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a jeweller (detail supplied) in County Wexford who applied four years ago.

Within the next six months or so.

163.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in County Galway who applied for telephone service in 1975 and who paid a deposit in July 1980 has not yet had the telephone installed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

At the time that service was offered and advance payment collected it was expected that it would be possible to provide service within about three months. However, because of the heavy construction work involved in meeting the application and the large volume of engineering work on hands and awaiting attention in the Galway area, this did not, regrettably, prove possible. It is expected service will be provided early next year.

A refund of the advance payment has been offered to the applicant; acceptance of the refund would not affect the time within which service can be provided.

170.

(Wexford) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed in the head office of a firm (details supplied) in County Wexford.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will make arrangements to reconnect a telephone for a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Arrangements are being made to reprovide service on a basis agreed with the applicant.
