Vol. 331 No. 4

Written Answers. - Leinster House Lift System.

695.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will take immediate action to rectify, and replace if necessary, the lift system at Leinster House which is in a dangerous condition.

The lifts in Leinster House are not in a dangerous condition and consequently do not require replacement. The lifts are serviced regularly by the manufacturers and the incidence of faults has not been unusually high. A recent fault in the lift system in the office block which proved difficult to locate has been corrected and the lifts are now operating satisfactorily. Arrangements have been made for more frequent monitoring of the lifts in the coming weeks to ensure continued satisfactory performance.
