asked the Minister for Social Welfare if she will give the following information in relation to the further appointments published in Iris Oifigiúil on Tuesday 1 December 1981: (i) the name of the special adviser appointed to the Minister for Health and the Minister for Social Welfare on 20 November 1981; (ii) the name of the personal assistant to the Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Welfare on 23 November 1981; and (iii) the salaries being paid to them.

The special adviser to the Minister for Health and Social Welfare is Mr. John Long. He is being paid a salary of £13,308 a year.

The personal assistant to the Minister of State at the Departments of Health and Social Welfare is Mr. Roy Dooney. He is being paid a salary of £9,254 a year.
