The reconstruction grant will be paid shortly. The grant in respect of sewerage services cannot be paid until the applicant submits a report from the sanitary authority in relation to the siting of the septic tank, which was requested recently.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied and that the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

There is no record in the Department of the receipt of an application from the person named. An application was, however, received from a person with a different Christian name and the same address, and this may be the case in question. If so, the position is that under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), it was a condition of payment that the works be satisfactorily completed on or before 30 June 1981, and a claim for payment of the grant received in the Department on or before that date. The earliest claim for payment was that received from the Deputy on 2 July 1981. Accordingly, the statutory requirement was not fulfilled and payment of the grant cannot be made.

A £200 grant in respect of water facilities will be paid shortly in this case. As the reconstruction and sewerage works were not satisfactorily completed on or before 30 June 1981, grants for these works cannot be paid.

A grant will be paid when the successor in title to the deceased applicant, is established. A reply to a letter sent to the applicant's son on 24 July 1981 is awaited.

The person named submitted an application under the old scheme of grants for a new house which commenced prior to May 1977. To qualify under this scheme, applications must have been received by 31 December 1977, work on the house must have been completed by 31 December 1978, and my Department notified to this effect by 31 January 1980. As the application was not received until 1 April 1981, it had to be rejected.
