asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in paying a farm modernisation grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

There are two grants involved in this case. These grants have been paid.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of cattle and sheep headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The following is the position in relation to the four applications under the various headage schemes which have been received from the person named, viz.

(1) 1981/82 EEC Ewe Premium Scheme

The first instalment was paid on 30 September 1981 and the remaining instalment, if any, will not fall due for payment until after 5 April 1982 viz. after the end of the current marketing year.

(2) 1981 Sheep Headage Scheme in Disadvantaged Areas

The grant was paid on 19 March 1982.

(3) 1981 Cattle Headage Scheme in Disadvantaged Areas

The grant will be paid shortly.

(4) 1981/82 EEC Suckler Cow Scheme

The applicant's eligibility under the terms and conditions of this scheme is under examination at present and a decision regarding payment will be made shortly.
