With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 37 and 38 together.
My Department received 25 applications in 1981 for financial assistance under the capital grant scheme for the construction of recreational facilities — the Community, Youth, Recreational and Employment Programme — from various interested groups, organisations, etc., based in Waterford city and county. Dungarvan Youth Club was included among these applicants.
Only one project from these applications was included among the list of grants authorised by the former Minister of State. It was decided that, subject to compliance with the terms of the scheme, a grant of £15,000 would be made to St. Paul's Boxing Club, Lisduggan, towards the construction of a boxing gymnasium.
All funds placed at my Department's disposal for the purpose of the scheme have been fully committed since 8 March 1982 and, accordingly, the question of making a grant to Dungarvan Youth Club cannot be considered at this stage.
A list of projects located in Waterford city and county, towards the cost of which capital grants were approved in the period December 1979 to February 1981, and the amount of the grant approved in each case, is given in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the official Report.
