54.

asked the Minister for Health the amount of money which will be spent on equipping and furnishing the new regional hospital in Tralee, County Kerry during 1982.

55.

asked the Minister for Health if it is his intention to provide the necessary funds to allow for the building of a chapel at the new regional hospital in Tralee, County Kerry.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to answer Questions Nos. 53 to 55 together.

On the best information available to me at this time I anticipate that the new general hospital at Tralee will be in operation at the beginning of 1984. A sum of £1 million has been allocated to enable the furnishing and equipping of the new hospital to be commenced this year.

The planning of a new chapel at the hospital is now in progress. When the planning has been completed and examined by my Department, a decision will be taken on making the necessary funds available to enable the commencement of construction of the chapel.
