asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects further engineering work in the Strainey-more area of Rathmolyon, County Meath to be completed so that applicants for telephones can have them installed there; and if he will outline the nature of the engineering work which has to be completed.

The necessary engineering work which includes cabling, cable distribution and conversion of Rathmolyon exchange to automatic working is expected to be completed within the next year or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when additional engineering work will be carried out to enable the installation of additional telephones in the Cloneycavan area of Ballivor, County Meath; and the nature of the work in question.

The necessary engineering work which includes cabling, cable distribution and conversion of Ballivor exchange to automatic working will be carried out over the next year or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects to carry out the cabling work which is necessary in the Brownstown area of Navan, County Meath to enable further applicants to be provided with service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the additional cabling to enable further telephones to be installed in the Crossdrum area of Oldcastle, County Meath will be completed; and when the work is likely to commence.

Work has commenced on the provision of necessary additional cabling and is expected to be completed towards the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the additional engineering work which is necessary to enable further telephones to be connected in the Gortloney area of Oldcastle, County Meath will be completed; the nature of the work concerned; and when it is likely to commence.

The necessary engineering work which includes cabling, cable distribution and conversion of Oldcastle exchange to automatic working is expected to commence within the next three months or so and to be completed within about a year.

A telephone kiosk will be provided at Dunawley estate. It is expected that it will be erected within a month or so.

The subscriber recently paid the outstanding accounts on the two exchange lines which he rented and service has been restored on one of these. It is not possible to restore service on the second line immediately as the telephone agreement for it was terminated last year and the telephone instrument recovered. It will be necessary for the subscriber to make a fresh application for restoration of service on this line.

It has not been possible to provide service for this applicant so far because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the district. It is expected that service will be provided early next year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in installing a telephone for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; whether he recognises the urgency of the problem since she is a widow who lives alone and is in poor health; and if he will now indicate when service will be provided.

The need for telephone service by the person named is appreciated. It has not been possible to provide the service so far because of the volume of applications on hands in the area. It is expected that service will be provided within the next four months or so.

It has not been possible to provide service for the person named so far because of the extensive linework required and the volume of engineering work on hands in the area. It is expected that service will be provided in about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider the provision of a telephone kiosk at Kilrane, County Wexford, because of the massive input of tourists each year.

The provision of a telephone kiosk at Kilrane is not regarded as warranted at present and it is not proposed therefore to provide one there.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will ensure that a telephone service is provided for a business man (details supplied) in County Wexford who is a salesman and distributor of mechanical tools with a thriving business and who may be able to employ two more people.

It is not possible to provide service at present. It is hoped to do so in 1983.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when an application for a telephone transfer which was made a year ago by a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be made.

It is expected that service will be provided for the person named on a new line basis within the next 12 months or so. A transfer of service is arranged only when a subscriber is moving from one address to another.

It is expected that service will be provided for the person named, who applied in August 1981, within about six months.
