asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position in relation to the new sewerage scheme for Clonakilty, County Cork; and whether he is now in a position to sanction it.

I am not at present in a position to say when a decision will issue to Cork County Council on the Clonakilty sewerage scheme, for which contract documents are under consideration in my Department.

asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position in respect of the sewerage scheme proposals for Bray, County Wicklow.

Stage 1 of Bray sewerage scheme opened up about 150 acres of land for development and was completed in 1979 at an estimated cost of £358,000.

The following is the position regarding stage 2, which is made up of 4 seperate contracts;

Contract No. 1: Replacement of Main Street culvert. This contract was completed in 1978 at a cost of about £64,500.

Contract No. 2: Storm relief sewer; Sewering of Fassaroe housing scheme; grading and realigning of Swan River. Contract documents received in my Department on 5 January 1982 are under consideration.

Contract No. 3: New outfall at Bray for disposal of effluent following comminution. Approval to the preparation of contract documents issued to Bray UDC on 19 April 1982.

Contract No. 4: Balance of foul and surface water sewers. Approval to the preparation of contract documents issued to Bray UDC on 11 January 1982.
