asked the Minister for Industry and Energy his plans for the provision of additional industrial jobs at Bandon, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they are vigorously promoting Bandon for suitable industrial development. The IDA approved six industrial projects for Bandon in 1981 with a job potential of 486. Some of these have already commenced operations and recruitment has started in the remaining projects. In addition, the IDA have a land bank of 11 acres available for industrial projects in the town.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy his plans for the provision of additional industrial jobs at Bantry, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they are at present constructing a 24,000 sq. ft. advance factory and a 4 × 3,000 sq. ft. cluster unit in Bantry. These factories will be completed by mid-1982 and are being promoted for suitable industrial projects.

The 30,000 sq. ft. Rowa factory in Bantry is also being promoted by the IDA for a new industry, preferably in the pharmaceutical or electronics sectors.

In addition, the IDA have a further 7.6 acres of land available for industrial development in Bantry.
