The decisions as to whether grant assistance should be provided in any case such as this is a matter for the Industrial Development Authority in accordance with their statutory responsibilities and I have no function in the taking of any such decisions.
I understand however that in this particular case the Industrial Development Authority refused an application for a grant under their small industries programme on the grounds that the market which the project would serve was adequately catered for by other manufacturers.
