asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the estimated number of Irish citizens living in Britain.

The 1971 British census showed that there were 955,000 people born in Ireland resident in Great Britain. It also showed that 2,005,000 persons living in Great Britain had either one or both parents born in the Twenty-six Counties. Full data from the 1981 British census will not be available for some time.
