Vol. 335 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

1021.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in paying a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and when payment will be made.

There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. The file is with the inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.

1022.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in Cork south-west; and whether he will now arrange for payment.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for completion of work was 30 June 1981. At inspection in March 1982, work was not completed consequently a grant cannot be paid. The applicant is, however, entitled to a sewerage grant which will be paid when he furnishes planning permission as requested in April 1982.
