Vol. 336 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

68.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for completion of works and the receipt in the Department of claims for payment was 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case, a grant cannot be paid.

93.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of the certificate advising completion of the works in this case and a final inspection was not accordingly carried out. There is evidence, however, to suggest that the applicant was in contact with the Department in the matter before the termination date for the particular scheme of grants. Payment will accordingly be made if and when an inspection confirms that the works were satisfactorily completed on or before 30 June 1981. The inspection will be carried out shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house purchase grant cannot be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Under the terms of Article 11 (1) (b) of the Housing Regulations, 1980, a grant cannot be paid in this case as the applicant was in occupation of the house for more than one year prior to the receipt of his application in my Department.
