Vol. 336 No. 2

Written Answers. - Sheep Subsidies.

402.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in paying sheep subsidies to farmers in County Donegal, many of whom have not yet been paid the 1981 scheme grants.

Only 93 out of 3,266 applicants have not been paid in County Donegal under the 1981 sheep headage grants scheme and only 110 out of 3,412 applicants remain unpaid under the 1981-82 EEC scheme of premium for good quality ewes. The reason for delay in paying these small numbers of outstanding cases is that each case is under query and payment cannot be made until the queries raised are answered to the satisfaction of the Department.
