I am, at present, in the course of appointing suitably qualified persons to the board of the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards and plan to make an announcement shortly.
The appointment of worker directors to the board of the institute is not provided for under the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1977, which prescribes the procedures for election and appointment of worker directors and designates the State enterprises to which the statutory arrangements apply.
