Vol. 336 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Grant.

849.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Mulhuddart, County Dublin, who applied for it last autumn.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and the other conditions applying to the grant schemes have been complied with.

An inspection on 29 March 1982, revealed certain defects which needed to be remedied before the grant could be paid. The inspector reported that when he again visited the house on 25 May 1982, he failed to gain admittance.

Payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy cannot be paid until the house has been completed and occupied and at least six months have elapsed after the execution of the mortgage deed.
