Vol. 336 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Wicklow Industry.

852.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a timber company in County Wicklow has lost export orders to Britain worth £1 million allegedly on account of the Government's stand on the Falklands crisis; and in view of the serious repercussions this will have on employment in the South Wicklow area if he will make a statement on the matter.

My general responsibility for industrial matters does not embrace trade, which appears to be the substance of the Deputy's question. Accordingly, I have asked the Minister concerned to examine the matter.
