asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay of five years in installing a telephone for a person (details supplied) in Bandon, County Cork; and if he will confirm that it will be installed immediately.

It has not been possible to provide service for the person named so far because of the volume of engineering work on hands and awaiting attention in the Bandon area. It is expected that service will be provided within about six months.

Service will be restored when the telephone account is paid. The telephone call charges were checked and are correct.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants waiting for telephone service in the area of Dollanstown near Kilcock in County Meath; the nature of the engineering works which must be carried out to provide service for them; and when these works will be carried out.

There are four applicants awaiting service in the Dollanstown area who will be given service within about three months after necessary underground and overhead cabling is available. It is expected that this work will be completed within the next six months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the engineering work necessary to enable further telephones to be connected in the Moyleggan area near Batterstown, County Meath; the number of applicants waiting for service there; and when the work will be carried out.

It is expected that the necessary cabling work to enable service to be given to the three waiting applicants at Moyleggan will be completed within the next six months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the engineering work necessary to enable applications for telephones in the Rathdrinagh area near Beauparc, County Meath will be carried out; if he is aware that a person (details supplied) has been waiting for a telephone for five-and-a-half years; if there are any other applicants in the area waiting for service as long; the number of applicants waiting for service in the area; and when he expects that all the applications will be met as a result of the engineering works being carried out.

There are 13 applicants awaiting service in the Rathdrinagh area of whom the person named is the the earliest. They will be given service within about three months after necessary underground and overhead cabling is available. It is expected that this work will be completed within the next six months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Balbriggan, County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Lusk, County Dublin in view of the fact that telephones are being installed at locations which are within 100 yards of his home.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a year. It has not been possible in the time available to establish the position in relation to other applications in the area. If the Deputy can furnish details of the applications referred to including names and addresses further inquiry will be made.

Because of the volume of engineering work on hands and awaiting attention in the 01 area it has not been possible to provide service for the person named so far. It is expected that service will be provided within about a year. New line terms will apply.

It has not been possible to provide service for the person named so far because of exceptional pressure of engineering work in the 01 area in recent months. It is expected that service will be provided within the next month.
