Vol. 336 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Fees Revenue.

443.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the approximate amount of additional revenue which would accrue to his Department this year if all the fees charged by them had been increased fully in line with inflation since they were introduced.

Fees payable to the Department for services are regularly reviewed and updated to take account of inflation. The most recent review was carried out in connection with the 1982 Estimate and, arising from this, an extra £2 million is included in the Estimate. I should point out that about 81 per cent of my Department's appropriations-in-aid are represented by receipts from the EEC and another 10 per cent by receipts from the UK Government.
