Vol. 336 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Fees Revenue.

447.

asked the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Tourism the approximate amount of additional revenue which would accrue to his Department this year if all the fees charged by them had been increased fully in line with inflation since they were introduced.

Fees payable to my Department arise under a variety of statutes, some of which have been in force for many years. The information sought by the Deputy could therefore only be complied by the expenditure of an inordinate amount of staff time. I can say, however, that my policy is to keep fees under continuing review; in fact I have increased the level of fees generally in the past two years.
