asked the Minister for Education when he will sanction the erection of an extra classroom and all purpose room for a school (details supplied) in County Galway which has 183 pupils; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of temporary accommodation for the fifth assistant teacher at St. Colman's national school, Cummer, (Corofin), County Galway, is at present receiving consideration.

My Department authorised the invitation of tenders for the provision of a general purposes room on 9 June. However, the need for additional permanent accommodation must now be examined.

asked the Minister for Education when he will sanction the recruitment of a sixth teacher for a school (details supplied) in County Galway which has 183 pupils; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This school will qualify for the appointment of a sixth teacher from 1 September 1982 provided an average enrolment of 175 is secured for the quarter ended 30 June 1982. The school board of management have been informed accordingly.
