asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the drainage of the Finn-Lackey and Blackwater River catchments for which eight million units of account was approved, on 6 February 1979, by the Council of Agriculture Ministers as part of a programme of cross-Border drainage under an EEC Directive.

Preparation of schemes for the Finn-Lackey and Blackwater catchments by the drainage authorities on both sides of the Border under their respective legislation is proceeding. At this stage I cannot say when scheme works might commence.
