Vol. 337 No. 4

Written Answers. - Devlin Committee.

540.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if his Department have yet established a management advisory committee in accordance with the recommendations of the Devlin Committee which were accepted by the Government in 1969; and if not, the reason.

The restructuring of my Department on aireacht-executive unit lines as recommended by the Devlin Committee is at present the subject of a joint study programme by officials of the Department of the Public Service and my Department. The establishment of a management advisory committee forms part of that programme. I might add that while such a committee has not yet been established formally in my Department the system has been operated informally for a considerable time.
