asked the Minister for Education if there are any plans to provide a general purposes room at Ballivor national school, County Meath.

asked the Minister for Education if there are any plans to provide a general purposes room at Kiltale national school, County Meath.

asked the Minister for Education if there are any plans to provide a general purposes room at the national school at Clonard, County Meath.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 444, 445 and 446 together.

The position with regard to the national schools referred to in the Deputy's questions is as follows:

Clonard: The question of how best the accommodation requirements of Clonard can be met is under consideration by my Department in conjunction with the Commissioners of Public Works. The provision of additional permanent accommodation would include a general purposes room.

Kiltale: Tenders are under consideration by the Commissioners of Public Works for an extension scheme which includes a general purposes room.

Ballivor: A scheme of extension has been completed at Ballivor national school which includes a general purposes room. I regret that in reply to the Deputy's question of 24 June 1982 this information was overlooked.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to plans to replace the seven pre-fabricated classrooms in use at Longwood vocational school, County Meath; and when he expects a permanent extension to that school to be completed.

Architectural planning for a permanent extension to Longwood vocational school is under way. At this early stage of planning it is not possible to say when the construction work will be completed.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to plans to replace two pre-fabricated classrooms in the Christian Brothers' school in Trim, County Meath; and when he expects a permanent extension to that school to be completed.

The position is that agreement, in principle, was reached some years ago to develop the accommodation at the Christian Brothers' secondary school in Trim on the basis that such school and the proposed new vocational school there would be complementary to one another in terms of accommodation and curriculum.

My Department await details of specific arrangements in the matter between the Christian Brothers and the County Meath Vocational Education Committee in order to establish what additional accommodation may be required at the Brothers' school.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to plans to replace the three pre-fabricated classrooms in St. Patrick's school, Navan, County Meath; and when he expects a permanent extension to that school to be completed.

The position is that my Department recently approved the provision of a permanent extension to St. Patrick's classical school, Navan. At this early stage of planning it is not possible to say when the new extension will be completed.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 450 and 451 together.

It is proposed to replace the Christian Brothers' school and the vocational school in Kells and to cater for the pupils by the provision of a new community school for boys and the provision of a suitable extension to the local Mercy Convent secondary school for girls.

Architectural planning of both projects is under way but, at this early stage of planning, it is not possible to say when the work will be completed.

The position is that my Department have approved, in principle, a request by the County Meath Vocational Education Committee to replace the existing vocational school at Trim. At this early stage of planning, it is not possible to say when the construction work will be completed.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 453 and 455 to 465, inclusive, together.

The position with regard to the national schools referred to in the Deputy's questions is as follows:

Carnaross: A tender for an extension scheme comprising one classroom and a general purposes room was accepted on 1 June 1982. The expected completion date is September 1983.

Rathbeggan: An extension comprising three classrooms and a general purposes room is in course of erection. The expected completion date is March 1983.

Clonmahon: An extension comprising two classrooms and a general purposes room is in course of erection. The expected completion date is September 1982.

Clonalvey: Tenders are under consideration by the Commissioners of Public Works for an extension scheme comprising one classroom and a general purposes room.

Kiltale: Tenders are under consideration by the Commissioners of Public Works for an extension scheme comprising three classrooms and a general purposes room.

Trim Boys' School: A cost plan is awaited by the Commissioners of Public Works from the chairman's architects, together with further details of the sketch plans for a new school comprising ten classrooms and a general purposes room.

Maio: Sketch plans have been approved for an extension scheme comprising three classrooms and a general purposes room.

Gortloney: A suitable site has been offered for a new school. The long-term requirements are under review.

Lismullen: An application for an extension scheme is being considered by my Department at present.

Kilmessan: An application for an extension scheme is under examination by my Department at present.

Carnisle: This school is to be amalgamated with Kildalkey national school when an extension scheme in progress at the latter school is completed.

Oldcastle: My Department have no record of prefabricated classrooms being in use at Oldcastle national school.

Except where stated, it is not possible to give completion dates for the projects listed above.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to plans to replace the nine prefabricated classrooms which have been in use at Nobber vocational school, County Meath; and when he expects a permanent extension to that school to be completed.

My Department have approved the provision of a new school to replace the existing Nobber vocational school, County Meath. While architectural planning is well advanced, it is not possible to say when the new building will be available.
