The income guidelines for purposes of eligibility for medical cards were revised with effect from 1 January 1982.
This revision took account of changes in the consumer price index up to mid-November 1981.
The guidelines are normally reviewed on an annual basis and it would be impractical to revise them at more frequent intervals to take account of movements in the consumer price index.
