asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for persons (details supplied) in County Louth who are old age pensioners and the contribution that will be required.

It has not been possible in the time available to trace an application on behalf of the persons named. If the Deputy can furnish additional information e.g. when and where the application was made further efforts will be made to trace it.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the telephone of a person (details supplied) in East Wall, Dublin 3 has been out of order for quite some time because CIE broke a cable in this area; and if he will treat this as a matter of urgency.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in Drumcondra, Dublin 3 has been without a proper telephone service for the last five weeks, that she is suffering from arthritis and needs the telephone for medical reasons and that her husband needs the telephone for business reasons; and if he will take appropriate action to put this matter right.

Service will be restored as soon as possible, but this may take a week or so because of the large number of faults on hands.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in Drimnagh, Dublin 12 has been on the telephone waiting list for the last four years and that this man is a member of the gas company emergency crew which makes the provision of a telephone vital in his case; and if he will ensure that this case is treated as a matter of urgency.

I am aware of the application. Service will be provided as soon as possible, but it is unlikely that the necessary cabling can be completed for about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of a complaint by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 that his telephone has been out of order for some time and that he is losing out financially because of this; and if he will deal with this complaint as a matter of urgency.

(Dún Laoghaire) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored to a person (details supplied) in Stillorgan, County Dublin as his telephone has been out of order for the past six weeks.

(Dún Laoghaire) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Blackrock, County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number and the location of telephone kiosks to be provided in South Tipperary in 1982 and in 1983.

The information required by the Deputy regarding the location of kiosks is set out below. The statement shows the location of the places where it is expected that kiosks will be provided during 1982 and the years 1983-84.

Because of the large amount of work involved, it is not practicable at this stage to give more precise information as to when each kiosk will be provided. Kiosks listed for provision in 1982 — Beary's Cross, Clonmel; Grange, Gurtnaboe; Kilmogla Cross, Cahir, Knockbrett, Fethard; Goatenbridge; Kilclash, Kiosks listed for provision in 1983-84 — Lisronagh, Clonmel; Clonoulty, Cashel; Ballinure, Thurles; Dualla, Cashel; Coalbrook, Thurles; Kilfeacle; Kilgainey, Clonmel.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a special automatic line and a telex connection will be provided for a company (details supplied) who have taken over Ballingarry collieries, Thurles, County Tipperary and who need these connections urgently in order to develop this industry.

Automatic telephone service will be provided for the company named when Ballingarry exchange is converted to automatic about the end of this year. It is not possible to provide automatic service before that by way of connection to another exchange because there is no spare circuit available.

It is expected that the necessary circuit to provide telex service will be available within the next two to three months. Terms will then be quoted to the applicant and service will be provided as quickly as possible afterwards.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dalkey, County Dublin.

It has not been possible in the time available to trace an application on behalf of the person named. If the Deputy will furnish additional information, e.g. when and where the application was made, further efforts will be made to trace it.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the exchanges in South Tipperary which are scheduled to become automatic in 1982 and 1983.

The exchanges at Ballingarry, Clogheen and Mullinahone are expected to be converted to automatic working towards the end of 1982. Cahir exchange, which has local dialling at present, is also expected to have full subscriber trunk dialing late this year.

The following exchanges are scheduled for conversion to automatic during 1983: Ballinure, Ballyporeen, Boherlahan, Burncourt, Cappawhite, Carrick-on-Suir, Drangan, Killenaule, New Birmingham, Nine Mile House.

Forecasts for the provision of automatic service are based on the assumption that contract dates for buildings, equipment, etc., are adhered to within reasonable limits.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the length of time a person (details supplied) in Clondalkin, County Dublin was without telephone service, he will grant a rebate of rental.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the length of time the telephone of a person (details supplied) in Rathcoole, County Dublin was out of order, he will grant a rental rebate.

My Department has been unable to trace the subscriber from the details supplied. If the Deputy will supply the telephone number involved, I will have the matter investigated.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the length of time the telephone of a person (details supplied) in Baldonnell, County Dublin was out of order, he will grant a rental rebate.

An appropriate rebate will be allowed.
