asked the Minister for Education if he has received an application from the Salesian College, Ballinakill, Portlaoise, for the grant towards the cost of erecting a new gymnasium/recreation hall and if he will fully consider the application in view of the need for the hall and of the fact that these facilities will be available not only to the students but also to the local community.

An application for a grant towards the cost of a gymnasium at present under construction at Salesian College, Ballinakill, Portlaoise, has been received and is under consideration.

My Department will communicate with the manager when this consideration has been completed
