Vol. 337 No. 11

Written Answers. - Local Projects for Handicapped.

298.

asked the Minister for Health if his Department has received an invitation from the European Commission to nominate a representative to a liaison group to work with the Commission on the implementation of a programme of local projects in favour of the handicapped; and, if so, the criteria and procedures for the choice of districts to participate in the programme that will be proposed by the Departmental representative.

The Department of Health have, at the invitation of the European Commission, nominated three representatives to the liaison group which will oversee the implementation of the programme on the social integration of disabled persons.

The first task of the liaison group is to establish criteria and methods for determining the districts which will participate in the scheme. The first meeting of the group is due to take place shortly.
