Vol. 338 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) New Hospital.

362.

asked the Minister for Health if funds have been provided for the construction of the proposed new hospital for Tallaght, County Dublin.

The brief for the planning of the new general hospital at Tallaght is in course of preparation at the present time. The question of funds for construction does not therefore arise at this time.

363.

asked the Minister for Health if he will arrange for temporary medical facilities on an out-patient basis to be provided at Tallaght, County Dublin, until the projected new hospital opens.

I have agreed in principle to the establishment of a consultant medical staffed out-patient service at Tallaght in the interim period pending the provision of the new hospital.

Officers of my Department are at present examining the most appropriate means if providing such facilities in consultation with the agencies involved.

364.

asked the Minister for Health pending use of the Tallaght Hospital, Dublin, site for its intended purpose, if he will make available the land and site for the use of the local community for amenity purposes.

The acquisition of the site for the new general hospital in Tallaght has not yet been finalised. When the formalities have been completed, I will consider reasonable proposals for the use of the site put to me pending the commencement of the construction of the hospital.
