(Waterford): On a point of order, on Thursday last I asked for permission to raise on the Adjournment the closure of The Sunday Tribune and the Daily News newspapers and permission was granted. At 5 p.m. when I tried to raise the matter, due to the rowdy behaviour of some members of the Labour Party the Leas-Cheann Comhairle saw fit to leave the Chair. I would like a ruling from the Ceann Comhairle on this because the Leas-Cheann Comhairle did not formally adjourn the Dáil using the usual words; he simply got up from the Chair and walked out. Am I not, by right, entitled to continue the Adjournment Debate on this question on the Adjournment tonight?

If a Deputy has permission to raise a matter of importance on the Adjournment and other Deputies engage in the disruptive practice of the Labour Deputies, as seen here last Thursday, it would make a farce of parliamentary procedure——
The Labour Party are as anxious as Deputy Gallagher to raise the matter of the Daily News and The Sunday Tribune newspapers.
