I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that no application for a tax rebate has been received by the inspector of taxes from the taxpayer. However, on the information available to the inspector no repayment is due as the tax already overpaid in the current year in respect of arrears of salary up to 26 March 1982, is more than off-set by additional liability arising for the year 1981-82.
