asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 as he has been waiting five years for this service.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed for about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; if this will be provided as a matter of priority having regard to the fact that installation was promised prior to 4 January 1983 but has still not been provided.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of public telephones in the Springfield area of Tallaght, County Dublin that are in proper and full working order; and the location of these public telephones.

There are seven kiosks serving the Springfield area, at Maplewood Road (three), Raheen Avenue, White-brook Estate, Alderwood Drive and Lanadale Lawns.

Because of the extent of vandalism to which they are subjected they are frequently out of order. Currently none of them is operational but arrangements are in hands to restore service as soon as possible.

The number of telephone kiosks in the Springfield area of Tallaght is considered adequate to meet the needs of that area. There are no plans at present to provide additional kiosks there.
