Vol. 339 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Cork Industry.

199.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the steps that have been taken by the IDA to provide an alternative industry to Irish Polysacs at Blarney, County Cork.

Since the company in question went into receivership, in November 1982, the Industrial Development Authority, in conjunction with the Receiver, have been endeavouring to obtain a suitable purchaser for the assets of the company, with a view to the resumption of manufacture and employment. For that purpose, a number of interests have been approached but, so far, no definite take-over proposals have developed.

The Deputy may be assured, however, that the Industrial Development Authority will maintain their efforts to secure a successful take-over and the resumption of employment as soon as possible.
