Vol. 340 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Mayo Sewerage Schemes.

207.

asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding Shrule sewerage scheme, County Mayo.

Mayo County Council now propose to carry out part of the Shrule village sewerage scheme, in stages, under the small schemes programme. Stage 1 has been included in the council's small schemes programme, 1983. I hope to issue the capital allocations for small schemes in early March. It will then be a matter for Mayo County Council to decide whether or not to commence work on the Shrule sewerage scheme within their small schemes capital allocation for the current financial year.

208.

asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position in relation to work on Cong sewerage scheme, County Mayo.

The submission by Mayo County Council of tender proposals in respect of the civil works contract for the Cong sewerage scheme is awaited in my Department. In the circumstances I cannot at present say when work on this scheme may proceed.
