Vol. 340 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dundrum (Dublin) Hospital.

424.

asked the Minister for Health if his Department will approved commencement of a new unit for geriatric patients at Simpsons Hospital, Dundrum, Dublin; and the stage the project is at.

Proposals for the provision of a new geriatric unit at Simpson's Hospital, Dundrum, Dublin were received some time ago.

A working group representative of officers of my Department and the Eastern Health Board are currently preparing, as a matter of urgency, a priority programme of developments for institutional geriatric care in the Eastern Health Board area. This group will report very shortly at which stage I will be in a position to indicate when a development scheme at Simpson's Hospital might commence.
