Vol. 340 No. 8

Written Answers. - Rosscarbery Sewerage Scheme.

309.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the sewerage scheme for Rosscarbery, County Cork will commence.

Proposals for the Rosscarbery sewerage scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for sanitary service schemes, the need to conserve available capital for schemes of the highest priority and the number of such schemes at present in progress or getting to construction for which adequate finance must be provided, including Castletownshend water supply scheme, and Courtmacsherry sewerage scheme.

I am not in a position to say when a decision will issue to Cork (West) County Council on the contract documents for the Rosscarbery sewerage scheme, which are at present under consideration in the Department.
