asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant and a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

: When the person named submits a completed and certified Form SL4 (tax certificate) requested by my Department in November 1982 an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant, if in order. The mortgage subsidy will be approved on receipt of Form SL4 but payment will not commence until the grant has been paid and at least six months have elapsed from the date of execution of the mortgage deed.

: A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

: The person named submitted an application under the old scheme of grants in April 1977. The application was rejected in September 1977.

: There are two applications under the house improvement grants scheme from persons of the name and address supplied and it is taken that the Deputy has in mind the person who applied using the designation "Junior".

A grant is not payable in this case as, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme under the Housing Regulations, 1980, (as amended), notification of the completion of work and a claim for payment of the grant were not received in my Department on or before 30 June 1981.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant of £984 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

: The application in this case, which is from a person with a different Christian name from that supplied by the Deputy, has been referred to my Department's inspector for a report with a view to the payment of the grant if in order.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

: There is no record in my Department of a new house grant application from the person named.

However, a payment of £770 was issued on 20 January 1983 in respect of an application under the house improvement grants scheme from a person of the name and address supplied, for lodgment to his bank account.
