Vol. 341 No. 3

Written Answers . - Grant Payments .

531.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a £1,000 grant and a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: This application was rejected because the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum area allowable for grant purposes (1,346 sq. ft.). However, in view of the details supplied by the Deputy the file is now being referred to my Department's inspector for a further inspection so that the applicant's eligibility for the grant and subsidy can be reconsidered.

532.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when it will be paid.

: As the works in this case commenced prior to 1 November 1977 the latest date for receipt of a claim for payment of the grant was 31 January 1980. No such claim was received and accordingly a grant cannot be paid. The Deputy was informed of the position in a reply to a similar question on 28 April 1982.
